United Kingdom
In 2002, the United Kingdom enacted a new, 25-year renewable power mandate which, under current market conditions, has more than doubled the power price received by qualifying new renewable power plants. The Ridgewood Renewable PowerBank Funds capitalized on this valuable opportunity by investing in the development of a series of new landfill methane power projects located throughout the United Kingdom. As you can see from the number of projects on the map below, Ridgewood UK together with PowerBank Funds built a significant business in the UK. This business was sold in February 2007 for $230 million to an infrastructure fund managed by the Australian Firm, Macquarie Bank. For detailed information and pictures of selected plants, you can either click the highlighted plant name or location on the map.
